Many students worry that if a spirit guide comes through, they won’t know which one it is.
You’ll never offend a spirit guide. Often, you’ll just know a guide’s energy. The energy of spirit guides can vary greatly. You might not know their name, but you’ll be able to tell lots of things about them that distinguish them from other guides.
The Most Common Types Of Spirit Guides Are:
All spirit guides are here to help you. They each have a unique role such as protection, healing, or sharing spiritual wisdom.
Spirit Guides
You’ll have multiple spirit guides around you at all times and it’s really important to build a relationship with them based on mutual trust and respect… just like you would with a best friend here on Earth.
You can ask your guides to reveal themselves to you through dreams, or during meditation. Make note of any subtle impressions and energies you feel. This way you will start to get used to their unique energy signature.
Your primary guide or guardian oversees your spiritual development and life purpose. They’ll be there for you for your whole life and offer guidance. They will also support you through significant life events.
Your specialised guides will transit through your life at different times, depending on your needs. For example, if you are learning healing, you might find a guide supporting you who specialises in healing.
Your ancestral guides are family members who have crossed over to the other side but remain connected to you to help offer protection, wisdom and support from an ancestral perspective. Sometimes these guides can appear from far, far back in your family tree!
Deceased Loved Ones
Most people who go to see a medium for the first time are often seeking comfort and hoping to hear from a loved one beyond the veil. And those loved ones in spirit are often eager to jump forward and share memories, express love and even help resolve unfinished family business.
Deceased loved ones still look and sound like they were when they were living. If you have a guide like this you’ll see specific things like an item of clothing they used to wear, or they’ll share their favourite song with you. If you were familiar with them when they were alive, you’ll be able to interpret what they are saying in spirit very easily.
Higher Beings And Angels
Angels, ascended masters and celestial beings can serve as guides too. These spirit guides will typically offer advice about spiritual growth and enlightenment. Don’t be surprised to start downloading universal truths if these guides are surrounding you.
Angels appear to help with specific issues. They carry messages from the divine realms associated with healing, protection and guidance. You’ll have a guardian angel watching over you for this lifetime, who will always be there, and many other angels will stop by on the way.
Archangels tend to oversee the bigger picture and your spiritual evolution.
Ascended masters are guides who have lived thousands of Earthly lifetimes before reaching enlightenment. They now serve as teachers and guides to help other humans do the same.
If you’ve connected to any of these angelic guides, you’ll be feeling peace, love and expansion.
Nature Spirits And Elemental Spirit Guides
These guides link to the four elements of nature; earth, air, fire and water. They help us with the ever-so-important task of connecting to nature to replenish our energy.
They can also help us to ground our energy - particularly important if we’ve been doing lots of mediumship work. Their wisdom is invaluable when connecting with the Earth, the environment and all the activities we do in nature.
And quite importantly, they’ll help you get back in sync with the cycles of nature. They are the fairies, gnomes and undines that protect the planet.
